To participate in SCA's humorous writing contest, you may submit a humorous short story that is 2,000 words or less to www.sca.ucla.edu by midnight of April 8. The story can be on any subject, as long as it is funny, interesting, and completely original! Three winners will be chosen by the Student Committee for the Arts. If you are chosen as a winner, you must allow SCA to film you reading your story aloud, as a spoken word piece. The film will be available as a link on the SCA and UCLA Live websites. Prizes include tickets to the David Sedaris Show on April 29, 2009, and autographed copies of David Sedaris's latest bestseller, "When You Are Engulfed in Flames." You will not get your story back once it is submitted. Happy writing!

This art gallery was put on through UCLALive, and art was submitted by people(students and non-students) that explained why they did what they did. All different types of medium were accepted, and of thousands of submissions, only a select hundred were chosen to be shown to the public before Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz's Ivanov, a UCLALive event. At this event, a string quartet from the Herb Alpert School of Music provided some music as people strolled through the gallery of submissions.
