STAY CURIOUS: an Open Mic Night for Jazz Artists

Come out to the first installation of our “STAY CURIOUS” arts education series! Perform your own expression of jazz culture–music, spoken word, dance, art, etc.–and receive the chance to win free tickets to see Gregory Porter live at Royce Hall on January 17th.

Opening performance by The Thelonious Monk Jazz Institute.

Hosted by PhD Ethnomusicology student Alex Rodriguez.

Co-programmed with UCLA Residential Life.

Bruin Card required for entry.

Drinks and refreshments will be provided following the open mic performances.

If you are interested in performing, you can email your basic information (name, year, jazz art medium) to arts@orl.ucla.edu for advanced registration. If you plan on registering the night of, please arrive at 6:30.

For musicians– You can bring your own instruments, but a drum set, piano, guitar, bass, and some smaller percussion items will also be provided.
