We hope everyone is staying safe these days as we know many UCLA students have been encouraged to leave campus for safety precautions, we will be entering a new era of programming for the Student Committee for the Arts at UCLA. While this spring quarter held many exciting events for us: from watching great artists with CAP UCLA, to programming our own Royce show with Caroline Polachek, and all the amazing on-campus programming our committee creates, we look forward to transforming our ideas into a new frontier of entirely digital programming. Following suit with the UCLA campus all of our in-person events and activities are suspended and we are taking on digital activations to continue to promote the arts within our campus community. We plan to utilize social media platforms to reach out to the UCLA community and connect them with the happenings of student artists and professional artists alike. Hopefully, this digital platform will allow us to connect with individuals who have not attended our events before, and to connect with more student artists. In the upcoming months as students attend school online from around the world, our committee hopes to help unify the campus with art outreach of various kinds, in hope that students can use the art we share to motivate them, to inspire them, and to bring them peace of mind during these unstable times.
With all the best,
Marissa and Rebecca
