Improv Slam is UCLA’s first improv comedy festival brought to you by the Student Committee for the Arts and UCLA Residential Life! Sign up to perform, join a team, learn from professional coaches, and compete for great prizes – all in one day! Free and no experience necessary! Deadline to apply is Saturday January 14th.
Improv Slam is January 21st from 1:30 pm – 9:00 pm in Northwest Campus Auditorium on the Hill. New performers are strongly encouraged to attend an optional Improv 101 workshop immediately before the event from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm. The performance at the end of the day will be from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm and is open to students and the public – invite your friends and family!
Performers will sign up individually and be placed into random teams at the start of the event. Teams will attend three workshops lead by coaches from local professional comedy theaters then perform and compete in a show in Northwest Auditorium for a panel of celebrity judges. Winning teams will win prizes including tickets to a show at the Groundlings Theatre and an Upright Citizens Brigade Swag Bag. Snacks and Dinner will be provided.
